Sometimes the easiest way to express yourself is using the visual.
Children and teens who have emotional, psychiatric, and behavioral problems, or who just find themselves feeling isolated, can cast a net towards self expression, and find the therapeutic benefits of art.
Often we can see the effects of a childs life through the prism of their art work. What one finds a hard time putting into words, the brush can reveal more easily. The darkness can come to light, and the light can reflect hopes and dreams so impatiently struggled for.
A child can shine their light through art, like a flashlight searching the darkness, the final achievement being self worth.
